Helper Note

Recommended Buddy

Tortoise Beetle

Tortoise Beetle

Tortoise Beetle is a strong PvP Buddy for Sapphire Beetle because both support the same kind of fight: long, controlled, and difficult for the enemy to break through. Sapphire Beetleโ€™s Strong Guard gains value every time your squads take damage. The longer the fight continues, the more chances it has to build Strong Guard stacks, heal the weakest squad, deal damage to all enemy squads, and potentially inflict Silence. Tortoise Beetle fits this perfectly. It adds steady damage, useful stat support, and an early Silence chance in the first round. That early Silence can disrupt enemy skill rotations before they fully start, giving Sapphire Beetle more time to build Strong Guard value. Together, they create a control-and-sustain PvP setup. Tortoise Beetle helps slow the enemy down early, while Sapphire Beetle turns incoming damage into healing, counter-damage, and additional Silence pressure. This makes the pairing especially useful against skill-heavy teams, burst lineups, and fights where surviving the first rounds is critical.

Queen Swallowtail

Queen Swallowtail

Queen Swallowtail has strong PvE synergy with Sapphire Beetle because both insects perform best in longer fights where steady value matters more than fast burst. In PvE, Sapphire Beetleโ€™s Strong Guard helps keep the troop alive by turning incoming damage into healing and enemy-wide counter-damage. Queen Swallowtail supports this by providing consistent multi-target damage every round, making the pairing especially useful for wave clearing, sustained fights, and content where enemies stay alive long enough for repeated damage cycles. Queen Swallowtailโ€™s stacking debufs also add extra value in harder encounters by reducing enemy Skill Damage and Buddy Damage over time. This lowers incoming pressure and gives Sapphire Beetle more time to build Strong Guard stacks and stabilize the fight. While this pairing is especially reliable for PvE, it can also work in PvP against burst-heavy or insect-reliant lineups. In those fights, Queen Swallowtail weakens the enemyโ€™s damage output while Sapphire Beetle turns the longer battle into healing, counter-damage, and Silence pressure.

Summary

Sapphire Beetle is a strong utility insect for Guardian-based lineups. Its main value comes from Strong Guard, which converts incoming damage into healing, enemy-wide damage and Silence pressure. The Gallant effect adds even more Guardian durability and becomes stronger in consecutive battles. Overall, Sapphire Beetle is best understood as a sustain and control-focused insect rather than a pure damage option.
